Our first collaboration with The Met is a tribute to the enduring energy and inspiration of the work of Katsushika Hokusai — with our Original Icons offering a new canvas. Art should be seen everywhere. And our boots and shoes have miles to go. The Met 1461 shoe is printed with ‘Fuji from Gotenyama at Shinagawa on the Tokaido’, from Hokusai’s ‘36 Views of Mount Fuji’ series, and shows a crowd gathered for a picnic under the cherry blossom. The shoe has tonal laces with antique gold detailing and is finished with our signature yellow welt stitching.
- Second off the DM’s production line, the 1461 is a 3-eye shoe championed for its versatility
- Masterpiece is a coated leather with a fine grain texture designed to imitate art canvases
- A pillar of DM’s construction. Our Original and most recognisable sole. A height of 3.17″ — marked by a traditional DMS tread pattern that’s unique to Dr. Martens. One of our most flexible soles, well known for its comfort and stability.
- Our Goodyear-welted lines are heat-sealed at 700˚C and reinforced with our signature welt stitch
